The History of Chaguaramas – Part 1 to 6

Title: The History of Chaguaramas – Part 1 to 6
Author Williams, Eric Eustace,
Abstract: I have chosen to end with-does the 1941 Agreement confer on the U.S.A. the right to make any use whatever of the leased areas without any reference to the Government of Trinidad at all? The Government does not accept a British Capitulation in 1941 or 1956 as binding. It cannot be dictated to by the British Government. It will bear, in the eyes of the most educated democracy in the Caribbean, the responsibility from 1956 if, in complete indifference to our welfare, to our growing national dignity, and to our special national interests, the Chaguaramas base is allowed to constitute a danger. physical or political, to our young nation. The road to independence lies through Chaguaramas.
