| Abstract: | The Order has just been passed by me at Cabinet 1s directive – the Order on the dollar – to the Government Printer and it will be published almost immediately. I think perhaps I should say to the general public that possibly it will be understood now that a matter of this gravity, this urgency must still be done quietly, without fuss, to prevent speculation; and after the most careful and exhaustive examination going on for months, of all .sorts of position papers and recommendations from all the experts available to the Government. Thank you very much and from tomorrow $2.40 TT to the U.S. dollar. |
