Author Williams, Eric Eustace,
Abstract: Ladies and Gentlemen,

Today is the Sixth Anniversary of our Independence. It is the time when we th e citizens of our small nation must rededicate oursel ves to service of the nation and reassess whether our efforts are sufficient to achieve our desired goals. Six years are a short time in the history of man, but, for Trinidad and Tobago they mark the beginning of a journey on the road which can lead only forward. We recognised on 31st August, 1962 that our journey al though full of promise and reward was nevertheless a difficult and responsible path.
