Title: Prime Minister’s Address to the Nation on Thursday 27th June, 1974
Author Williams, Eric Eustace,
Abstract: Cabinet today reached a number of important decisions on developments in the energy situation which I think it appropriate to report
on to you tonight. As you know we have just had visits from Ministers of Nigeria and Iran, two of the large oil-producing countries of the world. The first Nigerian High Commissioner to the Caribbean, who will be resident in Trinidad, has presented his credentials. The first meeting of the Brazil/Trinidad and Tobago Mixed Commission took place here in Trinidad, ending yesterday. Our official delegation is in Caracas at the International Conference on the Law of the Sea. Tomorrow we expect the Secretary General of OPEC with whom I had discussions last month in New York. Oil experts from Iron ar0 due to arrive at the end of next month. The U.N. expert assigned to deal with our request for assistance for our seismic survey will be here early in August.
