Abstract:
The Prime Minister and Minister of Finance (Dr. the Hon. E. E. Williams): Mr. Speaker, I beg to move, That a Bill to provide for Supplementary Appropriation for the service of Trinidad and Tobago for the year ending on the 31st day of December, 1976, be now read a
second time. I want to put into the record that the object of the Bill is to authorize a further issue from the Consolidated Fund of the sum
of $18,027,001 in order to meet expenditure for the service of Trinidad and Tobago for the year ending 31st December, 1976. And again for the records, I say for the benefit of hon. Members of the House and of any members of the media who may have been able to withstand the parliamentary pressure of today, that this is not an addition to the budget of $18 million. That will be taken up in the course of the year; and that this provision of $18 million does not take into account the moneys that we have agreed to draw down from the fund subject to the
procedures laid down in the Ministry of Finance for the disbursement of the budget.
