Title: Debates of the House of Representatives 2nd Session 1st Parliament Volume 3 Number 5 – The Honourable C. Arnold Thomasos Speaker – Thursday, November 28, 1963
Author Williams, Eric Eustace,
Abstract: SECOND FIVE-YEAR PLAN
Second Day
Order read for resuming adjourned debate on Question [27th November, 1963] That this House approve the Draft Second Five-Year Plan, 1964-1968, which was laid on the Table of the House on 12th July, 1963, subject to the amendments detailed in the Appendix. Question again proposed. Mr. S. C. Maharaj : Mr. Speaker, may I suggest that in future we start these meetings at 2 o’clock, because we seem always to start at 2 o’clock or near 2 o’clock. I do not think it is fair to have the Opposition
always waiting on the Government. You would realize that we are always on time. Mr. Speaker: I think the hon. Member for Princes Town has made a good observation. I have been inclined very often to make that observation in this House. According to the Standing Orders, meetings of this House should begin precisely at 1.30 p.m. The observation is a good reminder to the Speaker that he should at least call the House to order in that respect.
