| Abstract: | I am very happy to be able to address you this morning and I would like to say a particular word to welcome to the representatives from both the other Caribbean countries and from other sugar-producing countries. I note that you have an extremely crowded agenda – covering nearly every aspect of sugar cultivation and sugar refining. This is all to the good. As is the case with every other industry, sugar producers have to strike unceasingly to reduce the cost or production both in the field and in the factory – both through increasing yields per acre and per man. |
